Fantastic 5/5
We had a great stay in a characterful room with a modern bathroom just what
we needed after a long drive.
We had our evening meal here as well and it
was fantastic food and service. We also had our breakfast before leavingThis was also great, if only we lived a bit nearer.

Best of the Best
The title says it all. We’ve stayed, literally, in hundreds of pubs and hotels over the years, both in this country and Europe and I can honestly say that we’ve seldom, if ever, enjoyed a place more. It’s spotlessly clean, supremely comfortable and well appointed. The restaurant offers a excellent selection of beautifully cooked and presented dishes and the beer is of the same quality. However, the thing that really makes it special is the atmosphere. Martin, Anthea and the team make a visit there like staying with old friends; yes, this was our first time!
What do you think? - Val H
Booked lunch for two last minute and managed to get there despite terrible weather.
As always the food was excellent and the service was friendly. The food arrived very quickly, I don’t know how they can do that and still make it taste so good.
I love the quirky deco and hope they never change. - Alan BOld World Charm
Historic atmosphere with Old World Charm. Comfortable and tidy room, excellent breakfast and evening meal. Overall a pleasant and enjoyable experience. Would recommend this Hotel to friends and family.
- Benny HGreat Stay
As always, a great stay at our favourite little Snowdonian Inn. Room was lovely and all of our meals were delicious. Friendly owners and very helpful staff. Their lamb Shepherd's pie is the best dish,in my opinion. Can't wait to come back and stay again.

We have been visiting the Ty Gwyn for about 32 years now, had a great day in Beywys today walking with the dog, I booked an early table for 6pm for dinner. It is advisable to book as it gets very busy and this was Saturday night. Rating Excellent . Nothing had changed at all, the cosy bar with odd chairs , I curled up in front of the log burner and could have fallen asleep. The only thing that had changed was no dogs which had been allowed before, new policy.
The Menu is quite large and I did wonder how so many dishes could be prepared freshly ...never fear, my shepherds pie was beautiful the lamb succulent and all local. Fresh vegetables cabbage , beans carrots and beetroot, just delicious. My husband had deep fried fish basket and said it was delicious , came with sweet potato fries. After a Damson crumble with pips and ice cream in a spun sugar basket . All very professional, lovely and comforting dessert. - Mary C 508Favourite Hotel in Wales
Charming, spotlessly clean, quiet, some parking adjacent, extraordinary restaurant (we had an amazing dinner and wonderful breakfast). This is an old, old coaching inn with all the quaintness one can ask for. It's so well loved and managed. I long to return. Caution: be careful of the GPS which will take you miles away to the Ty Gwyn pub with no lodging. Personal experience---still remembering the shocked faces at the pub when this old lady walked in asking about our lodging reservation! But back to Betws-Y-Coed and the Ty Gwyn. For those who haven't travelled in the UK: do not expect air conditioning, screens on windows, adequate lighting or outlets, face cloths, brewed decaf coffee, or top sheets (just duvets). With that said, the Ty Gwyn is superb!

Lovely Food lovely Staff couldn’t ask for anymore. Be wise to book as whilst we were there people had to be turned away for not booking prior. The Sunday lunch is presented perfectly. Lovely and pleasant setting close to the River. Parking spaces too.
- IsbiddleLovely charming hotel with wonderful food
I took my wife for a late valentines weekend away (whilst also dragging her up a mountain to train for the three peaks) and this hotel was recommended by a colleague. Everything was perfect - room 9b with the jacuzzi bath and four poster bed was so charming and romantic - the perfect getaway and place to soak after a long day hiking! And the food was incredible - so much choice and everything so fresh and delicious.

Arrived late afternoon to a very warm and friendly welcome.
Twin ensuite room was very comfortable with hi spec shower and spotlessly clean.
plenty of tea, coffee and hot chocolate.
Booked a table for evening meal, which was a good idea as the place was full with people eating dinner and no wonder.
The food choice was great and the quality and portions first class, all served by efficient and friendly staff creating a lovely atmosphere.
Beds were so comfy, awoke after a great nights sleep to enjoy a fabulous breakfast made with real quality ingredients.
We were so full at 09.30 am that we didn't eat again until late that evening !!!
Overall a super nights stay and look forward to returning in future. - Siobhan KuhnFanstastic Hotel and Resturant, great Hospitality

Stopped off here to eat when visiting Betws-y-Coed. There was a bar menu with a choice of sandwiches etc and a full menu with lots of choice. We both had lamb Wellington which was delicious. Proper home cooked food, so much better than big chain style pubs. Very friendly and attentive service. A most enjoyable lunch time meal.
